Hassan II Mosque on the Atlantic shore in Casablanca

Atlantic metropolis

Casablanca, Atlantic and modern.

Morocco’s largest city: Art Deco boulevards, a mosque built over the ocean and a gateway to the north.

About Casablanca

What to know before you go.

Casablanca is the country’s economic engine and most cosmopolitan city. Its centre mixes Art Deco and Mauresque architecture from the early 20th century, while the Corniche opens onto the Atlantic.

For many travellers it is simply where the flight lands. A half day here, followed by Rabat and the imperial cities, makes a graceful start to a northern or grand circuit.
