Your route

Day by day.

Timings are a flexible guide, not a fixed schedule. Youssef adapts each private departure to conditions, opening hours and your pace.

  1. Day 1

Marrakech · Aït Ben Haddou · Dadès

Cross the High Atlas with viewpoint stops, explore the earthen ksar of Aït Ben Haddou and continue through Ouarzazate, Skoura and the Valley of Roses. Dinner and overnight in a Dadès guesthouse.

  2. Day 2

Dadès · Tinghir · Todra Gorge · Merzouga

Follow the oasis route to Tinghir and enjoy a short canyon walk at Todra Gorge. Continue through Erfoud and Rissani toward Merzouga, then transfer by dromedary or 4x4 to the camp for sunset, dinner and the night.

  3. Day 3

Merzouga · Ziz Valley · Middle Atlas · Fes

After sunrise and breakfast, travel north beside the Ziz Valley and pause around Midelt. Continue through the Middle Atlas; any Barbary macaque stop is observation-only—never feeding or touching. Pass Ifrane and arrive at your Fes accommodation in the evening.

Wondering what guests say? Read live Tripadvisor reviews

  1. The final Merzouga-to-Fes road day is long; expect approximately 7–9 hours including scenic and comfort stops.
  2. Your pickup is in Marrakech and your final drop-off is in Fes, so this route works especially well with an open-jaw itinerary.
  3. Driving times are estimates and can change with traffic, weather, roadworks and mountain conditions.
  4. Accommodation category, exact inclusions and room configuration are confirmed in your personal proposal.
  5. Pack a small bag for your night at the desert camp; larger luggage can stay safely in the vehicle.
  6. Desert temperatures change sharply by season. Camp heating, air-conditioning and private-bathroom availability depend on the selected camp category.
  7. Families are welcome, but child seats, walking tolerance and long drive days should be discussed before booking.
